The Scino B nanofiber layer has been developed as a medical fabric and provides a high filtration capacity of 20 nanometers, thus protecting the user from direct penetration of nanoparticles into the respiratory tract. The membrane works as a mechanical barrier. The external nanofibers have also a hydrophobic layer, which prevents water from passing through.
The Scino B nanofiber membrane consists of fibers with a size of approximately 150-500 nanometers. The fabric creates a dense sieve, preventing the ingress of particles but same time (due to the high porosity) allows comfortable breathing. The pore size is much smaller than the one on the traditional cotton and allows capture of smaller particles. Below is a comparison of nanofibers made by Scimed and ordinary masks whose filtration capacity is insufficient to protect against a new type of coronavirus.
